WW2 Military Omega / Lemania Chronograph

A rare sterile WW2 wrist-timer of military pattern assembled with a hi-beating Lemania movement, which according to the Omega Museum in Switzerland states that these single-button chronographs are Omega factory products. Whether these watches were supplied by Lemania or from the Omega House is in debate but what is agreed is that both watch companies operate in partnership, with Lemania concentrating on the development of specialist watch movements that go on to fulfil Omega's needs.

The precise application of these Omega / Lemania timers is not known but the last owner who used this watch is said by his family to have been in the Royal Air Force. Interestingly, we have acquired another of these timers, which is property marked to Metropolitan Vickers Electrical Limited - a company that has associations with the RAF both during and after the war.

Presented in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition, this watch is in full working order, retaining the original oversized knurled winding crown and stop/start pusher. A superb example that comes on what is probably its original leather strap.
