WW2 Fleet Air Arm Beacon Watch c.1940
A scarce WW2 watch of the type most famously used in the Blackburn torpedo bomber biplane and in other Fleet Air Arm planes.
Supplied to the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm by Golay & Son, these large and superb quality watches have a rotating 360-degree bezel. When flying over sea, this feature was used with a radio beacon to help pilots navigate their way back to their aircraft carriers.
Presented in good condition, this watch works and keeps time. It is fully marked with the Admiralty Department code on the heavy-duty case that also bears the number "630", which matches the dial, case, case-back and movement.
Diameter = 62mm
