South East & Chatham Railway Pocket Watch
A good and early South East & Chatham Railway pocket watch which likely served to take troops to the Western Front. The SE & CR was established in 1899, operating locomotives throughout Kent and on to the Channel ports, where soldiers would have embarked for France and Belgium. The SE & CR merged with other railways in 1923.
A large Station or Guard's pocket watch with a perfect "Railway" porcelain dial and original blue steel hands. The robust case is in good condition with secure hinges and clear but rubbed engraving. Overall, a rare collector-grade example.
