WW2 GSTP Military Vertex Pocket Watch

An original and tidy example of a British Army issue General Service pocket watch. It is military marked on the screwback case, but not surprisingly, the neutral Swiss watch supplier is anonymous. However, the 15 jewel ebauche can be identified as a Revue Thommen 30, which had a reputation as being robust and dependable. Consequently, many watch companies opted to use this movement as they were able to remain relatively invisible should the nazis ever try to investigate the source of these watches. Today, historians concur that the key supplier of Revue Thommen movements was Vertex. After the war, Vertex was awarded an MOD contract to supply WWW wristwatches.

A lovely example with gentle signs of careful service use.
