Early English Day & Night Telescope, c.1810

Commission Sale: An impressive early 19th Century English telescope, identical to known examples by the London maker Harris & Son, c.1810.

Fully extended, this quality telescope weighs 3 Lbs and with the three-draw tubes extended, it measures just short of 37 inches. Overall, the brasswork is in great condition, exhibiting only light signs of service wear, and the original optics provide a good clear image of around 25x magnification. All lenses are free from damage and fungus however, light cleaning would not harm. All the tubes and optics are accessible via the screw-on rings, which appear to be finger-tight. As is, the image achieved by this telescope, even after 200 hundred years, is pretty good.

Rare to find in this useable and great condition.
