WW2 RAF RADAR Stop Watch, c.1938
A rare and genuine Air Ministry issue stop watch issued to Radar Station No. 30. This pre-WW2 watch is presented in its original condition and working order, although it shows signs of wartime damage.
RADAR is an acronym for "radio detection and ranging", the Air Ministry's pre-war secret weapon, using radio waves and a stop watch to calculate distance, speed, and direction of enemy aircraft.
The watch is in working order, with a flyback function operated by the top winder, and a stop/start, pause or restart slide fitted to the side of the watch case.
