Longines All-Proof Wristwatch c.1943

A superb WW2 era Longines "All-Proof" military watch dated from company records to 1943. Offered in original condition and good working order.

The term All-Proof was used by Longines to describe this model, which was famously worn by Wiley Post, a pioneering airman who was first to fly solo around the globe. Perhaps influenced by the many aviators who went on to own an All-Proof, in 1942 these excellent watches were tested and adopted by the US Navy. Many, but not all, were marked "US Navy" or "BuShips" or both and although this one doesn't have any military marking, it is likely to have seen service of one kind or another.

Identical to those that were issued, this example has all the same features comprising of a waterproof steel case, shock proofing and luminous hands together with a sweeping seconds... And true to Wiley Post's comments in a letter of praise to Longines, this watch is very reliable.
