WW1 British Army P17 Remington Bayonet
A very good 1917 British Army issue bayonet by Remington, with US flaming grenade and eagle inspector's stamp, complete with a good and correct scabbard where the leather bears broad arrow and board of ordnance crown marks, together with "HGR 17" marks, presumably applied by Hepburn, Gale & Ross, a London-based manufacturer of leather goods and a military supplier. Exhibiting minor service wear and no frayed stitches.
This bayonet was acquired in the village of Odiham from the son of a Home Guard soldier who helped patrol the RAF airfield as well as the Basingstoke Canal during WW2.
