WW2 WWW Vertex Watch c.1944
A superb WW2 British Army issue ( Dirty Dozen ) wristwatch by Vertex, c.1944.
It's not widely known but Vertex is a British watch company that was established during WW1, although they called themselves "Dreadnought". By WW2, this watch company, linked to Revue Thommen in Switzerland, had premises in the jewellery district of Hatton Garden, London, from where they were able to order and import watches and raw movements, many of which were delivered to the War Department, Air Ministry and Admiralty, becoming one of Britiain's most prolific wartime suppliers.
By 1944 the British Army was receiving stocks of the new WWW wristwatches ( Watch, Wrist, Waterproof ). This example is in stunning original condition, showing only light sign of service wear. It remains completely genuine and in full working order.
