Pre WW2 Royal Navy AP 301B Clasp Knife

A rare Royal Navy Admiralty Pattern 301B pocket knife by Joseph Allen.

AP301 clasp knives were introduced to the Royal Navy in 1910 with stag grips but the pattern changed in the 1930s when aluminium scales were introduced, renaming them as the Pattern 301B. These were shortlived before being redesigned to have the marlin spike on the opposite end of the blade joint.

A good knife bearing the details of its original owner and having strong springs and firm joints, with signs of service use.

On a historical note, RN records identify J28976 as S. Crosby, a Petty Officer in 1931.

Known humorously within the Senior Service as the "Pusser's Dirk", this knife is suitable for EDC.
